Each year, members of the multinational and interdisciplinary ASSAR team meet to review the project’s progress and strategise the way ahead. Throughout the year the ASSAR team works in diverse locations across Africa and Asia, and so these annual meetings provide rare but important opportunities for face to face interactions that facilitate productive discussions and debates, nurture working relationships, clarify working arrangements, and develop and instil a common project purpose and unified project strategy.
This year’s meeting, hosted by the Indian Institute for Human Settlements in Bangalore, India, brought together approximately 50 team members for a five day workshop. The delegates included five people from ASSAR’s west African region, seven people from the east African region, seven people from the southern African region, 20 people from India, and 10 people who work cross-regionally.]">
